Are we questioning responsibly? Are the thoughts that we
are playing with-right now, belongs to us? Are the answer that we are seeking is
within us or, we need a mentor to sort that out? The action that speaks the
reality of ours is making a sense or not? Are you feeling satisfied?
Are you being responsible enough? If you even tend to make an effort to look for the answer, then you are shaping a future you are dreaming about. Is it like we live with regret in past, knowingly or unknowingly and spend time worry about future a lot? Indeed the people (our parents, friends) who love us, care about us will obviously worry about our life.I am processing my thoughts after meeting a girl in information session of Teach for Nepal who showed desperation to join Teach for Nepal as a Fellow but was bound to her parent’s decision of joining Master’s immediately after her Bachelor’s. I asked- Have you ever taken your own decision, and then with the sad face she said, NO! Her parents choose the college where she is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree and sadly the subject as well. I am not judging about her parents or saying the girl is wrong. But, what’s the point in doing things that you are never interested in? Will you ever be happy after that? What’s blocking the passion in her? Is she afraid of walking the path of her choice? Or, she has a fear of failing at the same? Or, she has a doubt on her own potentialities and abilities? I couldn't figure that out. I hope she will find the right answer. I hope she will find the courage to admit her passion and work for it. I wish her a happy life.

This particular incident reminded me of the time before
joining Teach For Nepal as a Fellow. My parents were worried and doubting about
my decision at same. But, I negotiated and convinced them because this was
something I really wanted to do at some period of my life and getting opportunity
at this young age -- I never imagined off! I also showed them the bigger
picture of this Fellowship at long run. I know, it’s the right decision that I
have chosen to carve my skills and grow personally stronger. I know this
Fellowship experience would be something that would challenge me at best. For me,
it’s a platform where I would be challenged with my own possibilities and side
by side I shall learn and implement my skills to sharpen my perseverance
trait. Rather than, sitting in café and
complaining about the issue that are not OK with, I will go and find out the
answer, WHY? And, the first step to
pursue your dream is to STEP IN! So, I am walking my way with lot of HOPE!
"The best way to not feel hopeless is to get up and do something. Don't wait for good things to happen to you. If you go out and make some good things happen, you will fill the world with hope, you will fill yourself with hope."--Barack Obama
